About Us
Who we are
Established in 2020, WeMAD was designed to focus students on our joint responsibility to understand our environment and the indigenous communities. We want students and schools to actively participate in making positive changes and looking for solutions to community issues. As a framework, its intention is to build key skills in learning whilst attempting to make a small difference to the school and local national indigenous communities.
After a pause in development due to the global pandemic, the framework is now truly under development and ready for launching in Thailand. The framework is an open source curriculum that is intended to empower schools to link with one another to make a bigger impact on community and environmental issues.
Our goal is to establish a network of schools that will be able to help develop the resources and curriculum beyond its current scope. All international schools already have robust and positive service programmes in place. However, WeMAD looks to broaden this on the principle that united efforts can make a greater and more sustainable difference.
Think Small
A leading principle in the framework is that students, and schools, need to think small. Every global issue or local problem should be approached with realism and limitations. Although we want to make big changes to the world, we do this by all making very small changes and solutions. If every student and staff member were able to make a very small difference, our collective difference has a greater impact.
