UN SDG Alignment
From Global to Local
WeMAD aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. With each project and focus on key indigenous communities, we explore how the SDGs are being addressed, or where the limitations are being found.
These help frame students' understanding of how global issues are contextually localised in Thailand, and how we can have a direct impact on the SDGs at a macro level. "Think Small" is a key approach in the WeMAD service learning programme, getting students to reflect on how, if we can all make a small difference, we have a big impact. This is demonstrated throughout the curriculum and the SDGs are used as a framing device for exploring the issues surrounding indigenous communities.
